This is my Buell X1 Page

Dedicated to the finest handling sports bike I have ever ridden.

My X1 Diary (01/11/00)

Obvious mods are the paint job and the handlebar mirrors. You can't really see anything with the stock mirrors.

Other mods with pictures:

Homemade race kit

Banker shifter linkage

Modified rear end

Polished swing arm

Crank case vent with catch can

Oil cooler

Polished tail section

Misc Mods:

Review the pictures step by step or check the misc page

Nology® spark plug cables I personally would not recommend these cables to anyone because I had lots of trouble to get a set that fit my bike and neither I, nor a dyno could find any difference. They look kinda cool but I don’t think the look is worth 85 bucks.
Muffler I really wanted a Supertrapp with an internal Disk system but they were not available at the time. I hope they come out with one, soon.
- Because Supertrapp was too slow I got a Westtek muffler with my
race module. The sound is great and it works really well. I
  recommend this muffler to everyone.
Oil tank temp gauge This is a Harley part and fits right into the oil tank. Even the marks for the oil level are the same. Worth the 25 bucks if want to know how hot your engine gets.
Lower handlebars I like leaning a little bit further forward. These bars just clear the fork adjustment screws but are a lot lower than the stock bars.
Storz foot pegs I just like the look of the aluminum Storz pegs
Storz steering damper I took that one over from my S1. Don't know if I really need it on the X1 but if I have it, why not use it.
Bicycle speedo Attached to the handlebar. It is much more accurate that the stock speedo. Have a little light attached next to it so that I can read it at night. I'll also need it for Germany because it shows km/h
Shorter blinker pegs I took out the distance piece but it was not as easy as on my S1. you have to shorten the bolt and cut a new thread. Looks better though.
Foam grips Installed foam grips instead of the rubber grips. The eliminate a lot of the fine vibrations.
Scratch pad Added a tank scratch pad "carbon fiber style". It should protect the tank from scatches that the zipper of my jacket might make.
Gel grips Replaced the foam grips with gel grips. I hope the can reduce the fine vibrations better.
12 volt outlet I added a 12V outlet for CD player, cell phone and cigarette lighter. I attached it to the headlamp mounting bracket behind the fly screen. I installed a 15 amp in line fuse to be on the save side.
Fork seal protector Just added a set of neoprene fork seal protectors to prevent the seals from dirt, sand and bug guts.
Redline oil Used Redline 20W50 for the motor and also Redline 75W90 for the transmission.
Dyna oil filter Changed to the longer Harley Dyna filter to have more oil capacity and a larger cooling surface.
- the Dyna filter does not work with the spin on oil cooler. I had to go
back to the small one. I still recommend it for Buells without the
  Spin On oil filter
Throttle lock I decided to get a throttle lock to be able to take my right hand off
the bar. I need to do that sometimes because my hands get numb
because of the fine vibrations. The "Throttlemeister" lock is too
pricey for me and it would not work with the bar end mirrors.
This one was only $19 and works very well.
